HBO is under heavy fire today after word got out that it used a faux George W. Bush head on it’s hit, Game of Thrones. Did I mention it was on a spike? Republicans are now calling for an all-out ban of HBO and specifically Game of Thrones.
I’m not a real fan of boycotts. Certainly not as they pertain to Hollywood. If I boycotted every liberal part of the arts & entertainment industry, I’d never see another movie again.
Look, I don’t like seeing our former President’s head on a spike. Even if no one noticed it until it was pointed out in the DVD release. It’s no secret Hollywood is filled with liberals. A boycott of them is nothing less than a half-assed attempt at moral superiority. What it accomplishes is making you look like a bigger martyr than my Grandmother. (“It’s ok. You don’t have to loan me $20 this month. I like the taste of cat food”).
Fellow Republicans, a word of advice. SUCK IT UP. Get over it. There are bigger issues in our country right now. Far bigger than a plastic head on a stake.
Personally, I can’t participate in a boycott of HBO for one simple reason. I don’t now, nor will I ever, subscribe to it. If I really wanted to watch crappy Made For HBO programming and films that I have already seen twenty, even thirty years ago, I darn sure wouldn’t pay for the honor. HBO sucked at inception, it has sucked since inception, and it continues to suck to this day.
I know what your saying about bigger issues…BUT… lets play devils advocate and pretend they used an plastic empty shell of Obammi’s head?
I would consider it in poor taste. But I wouldn’t support their shouts of “boycott” either. It reminds me of the Sandra Fluke/Rush Limbaugh disaster. Or any time Bill Maher opens his trap. Are we really concentrating our energy on these non-issues? Fighting to the death over sponsers and radio/tv stations that air them? Are we really surprised an industry that made a movie about his death would stick GWB’s fake head on a stake?
